Spotlight on "The Complete A&M Recordings"

REVIEWS

"Liza Minnelli: THE COMPLETE A&M RECORDINGS" is being released to stores and online, Tuesday, NOVEMBER  25th, 2008, from COLLECTOR'S CHOICE MUSIC and UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP (who own the A&M catalogs).  Here's a High-Res Photo of the Final Cover -- which Liza likes -- for you to see. (Liza seems very pleased with this, especially since she loves the songs, including her delight at the song SHE told ME about that Peter wrote as the intended title song to "Tell Me That You Love Me, Junie Moon") .... I hope you'll all support this release -- It's all four of Liza's A&M albums, her one single, and lots of rare Outtakes!  Plus a 16-Page FULL-COLOR booklet with about a dozen photos .... and the sound is Remastered in 24-bit and is quite sparkling. (Likely you've seen info on this elsewhere -- sometimes mistakenly called "The A&M Years" -- but the Track Listings have NEVER been correctly listed, til here ....

The wonderful GORDON ANDERSON of COLLECTOR'S CHOICE -- the man and his company who are making the Liza "COMPLETE A&M RECORDINGS" actually HAPPEN -- has agreed to ship the CD out to Liza Fans AS SOON AS THEY ARRIVE IN THE WAREHOUSE.  That COULD be as early as this Friday or so (November 7th) -- I'll alert you here once I've heard they've "arrived."

Click on that LINK ABOVE, or here: www.ccmusic.com

You can ask for any number of FAST SHIPPING Options, with the obvious FASTEST way being Over-Night (NEXT DAY AIR) Shipping through UPS (United Parcel Service).  That cost is only $19.95 -- not bad considering the post office costs around $17 for over-night shipping (and that's about the lowest cost I've seen).

That Over-Night shipping cost is the same, whether you Order using that Link above, OR via telephone and their TOLL-FREE PHONE NUMBER:

(800) 993-6344 Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. CT and on Saturday from 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. CT.

CC Music also offers a live online chat option that can be accessed by clicking on the "Live Customer Support" button at the top of their help desk. They also offer Customer Service via e-mail which can be found at mcatalog@ccmusic.com.

Keep in mind that all other shipping charges -- aside from Over-Night Shipping -- are about $2 to $4 higher IF you order over the Phone.  Using the Toll-Free Number DOES offer one BENEFIT, though:  If you call before 11 AM EASTERN Time, they can ship the same day, usually.  That same time MIGHT apply to the Internet Orders, too, but not as likely.    (The above info is only for people who, like Carrie Fisher's great line in "Postcards From the Edge" believe that "Instant gratification takes too long"  :)

Their WEBSITE shipping charges are listed between $6.95 (5-7 days);  $8.95 (3-5 days);  $11.95 (second day AIR, via UPS), and the above-mentioned $19.95 for NEXT DAY AIR.

Again, all of this info is for fans who want to get their "COMPLETE A&M RECORDINGS" 2-CD Set as QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE, as SOON As They Arrive in COLLECTOR's CHOICE WAREHOUSE (With Thanks Again to GORDON ANDERSON).

For Immediate Release

COLLECTORS' CHOICE MUSIC To Issue:

LIZA MINNELLI: THE COMPLETE A&M RECORDINGS

FIRST TIME ON CD / NOVEMBER 25 RELEASE!

In celebration of the 40th Anniversary of their initial issue, Collector's Choice Music is pleased to present, for the first time ever, the CD debut of Liza Minnelli’s entire catalog for A&M Records – restored and remastered for this new collection, in 24-bit digital splendor, directly from the original master tapes.

Originally released from 1968 through 1972, these four albums, one single, and several rare outtakes represent a unique period in a legend’s legacy. The release date is this coming November 25.

This was a time when Minnelli was already past the stage of being an unknown or new artist -- but not quite the superstar she would become just as her association with A&M would end -- and her avalanche of awards began in earnest (including an Oscar for her starring role in the movie "Cabaret," and an Emmy for her TV special "Liza With a ‘Z.’") You might think of this historic 2-CD set as “Liza BEFORE The 'Z,'" or 'PRE-‘Z.’”

This exclusive Collector's Choice 2-CD set features an informative essay from the CD's producer: Liza's official webmaster, author - historian Scott Schechter, along with a full-color booklet featuring rare photos, and includes the studio albums "Liza Minnelli" (1968), "Come Saturday Morning "(1969), "New Feelin'" (1970), along with her first in-person solo recording "Live at the Olympia in Paris" (1972) -- discs that have never appeared on CD in the U.S. (and only the first and last LPs were on briefly-issued overseas compact discs, that fetch many hundreds of dollars on eBay when they appear). Hear Liza tackle songs with an unexpected contemporary pop-country-folk-Muscle Shoals beat, including numbers by Randy Newman ("Debutante's Ball"), John Denver ("Leavin' on a Jet Plane") and her husband Peter Allen ("Simon") -- along with yes, the expected tunes from the Great American Songbook, Hollywood, and Broadway.... including selections by her team of Kander and Ebb, and thus her hits "Liza With a 'Z,'" and, of course, "Cabaret."

This set is a must-have for all fans of music from the late 1960s into the early 1970s -- and of course, Liza Lovers will think they've died and gone to, well, Liza Land.

Come to the Cabaret
and celebrate this still acclaimed living legend at the early period of her acclaimed career.
